- Andre Hyland’s seven-minute Funnel is a neat little slice-of-life short about a man on a quest to fix his broken-down car. We hear the story through his side of a phone conversation as he treks to a gas station and back to his car. The short’s humor is based on its utter mundanity, though it’s the ending that really packs a comedic punch. Check it out here.
- Pizza Delivery for the Physicist, a somewhat surreal one-minute short from Richard Chhoa, is brief but bold. Using simple animation, Chhoa tells a story of a pizza delivery gone awry, thanks to a departure from the laws pf physics. The film isn’t particularly compelling, but it is a pleasant diversion. - Gabe Hordos’ two-minute Baby Teeth is an unbelievably adorable tale of a young beaver working on his tree-cutting skills. Hordos’ animation is wonderfully expressive, capturing all of his anthropomorphic characters’ emotions and telling a lot of story in a short amount of time. The film is truly heartwarming.
