The building that housed the incarnation of OCU, then called Epworth University, will once again be a school. Epworth United Methodist Church, 1901 N. Douglas, was sold to Positive Tomorrows, a private, tuition-free elementary school serving Oklahoma City’s homeless children.
Spring Break service, mission trips planned
Several mission trips in which all OCU students can participate are planned for March.Students are able to pick from trips to New Orleans, other areas of Louisiana, or Dallas, as well as local mission efforts.
Committee accepts nominations for outstanding faculty awards
The campus community has the chance to nominate faculty who have had a positive influence in their lives for a major award. The Outstanding Faculty Award committee is accepting nominations from the student body, staff and other faculty members commending teachers who have made an impact in their lives during the academic year.

With schedules filling up in the first weeks of the new semester, thinking about volunteering can be stressful. But random acts of kindness provide a quick and easy way to give back to the community.
OCU awarded national honor for community service
Oklahoma City University has been named a 2014 President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll school by the U.S. Department of Education. OCU is the only school in the state of Oklahoma to be added to the list this year.
