Volleyball team dedicates game to breast cancer awareness
The volleyball team will dedicate their pink-out game in support of breast cancer awareness to a player’s family member.The pink-out game is at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 30, and will be dedicated to senior Kelley Shiel’s grandmother, Sandra Allen, who died of breast cancer at age 71.
Students report home invasion, armed burglary off-campus
A student is urging his classmates to be careful while off campus after he and his roommates were robbed at gunpoint. A student living in a house in the 2000 block of N.E 16th was armed at gunpoint on Oct. 14.

OCU adds Master’s Degree Program in Elementary Teaching
OCU officials have announced the addition of a new master’s degree program in Elementary Teaching. Classes in the program will begin in summer 2015. In a statement about the program, Elizabeth Willner, the director of teacher education, said that a need for more qualified public school teachers motivated university officials to begin the new program.

Burglaries are the most highly reported campus crime, according to a security and fire report released earlier this month. The report, released Oct. 1, is required by federal law. It lists policies and crime statistics from 2011-13 for the university and surrounding areas.
