Athletics Department members gather record donations in food drive
The Athletics Department have gathered a record number of food items during this semester’s Canned Food Drive.OCU student-athletes raised over 11,996 food items to donate to Skyline Urban Ministries.

Students compete on state-wide game show
Three OCU students will compete in the quarterfinal match of “Mind Games” at 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 14. Theresa Hottel, Dustin Austin, and Chance Johnson will face teams from across the state in the match.
Number of students studying off campus on the rise
An increasing number of students are heading off campus to study and focus on homework. Some students are opting to drive to local coffee shops or other quiet places rather than utilizing places like the library and study rooms on campus.
Annual Christmas choir concert changes locations

Softball team hosts Anatomy Lab fundraiser

Undergraduate students have the opportunity to present original posters and win prizes in the annual Fall Poster Contest.The poster contest is a judged scholarly competition that happens every fall, in which undergraduate students have a way of visually presenting information in any field. New faculty members join MFA Screenwriting program
Three new faculty members have joined the new MFA in Screenwriting program. Richard Wenk, David Simkins, and David Golden, writers and producers for television and film, will join the program when classes begin in January 2015.
Seniors featured in annual cabaret performance
The annual Stargazing Cabaret is hosting their own senior showcase.The Stargazing Cabaret is a student-organized and student-performed show that happens twice a year, once in the fall semester and once in the spring. Professor pens memoir on living in Hitler’s Germany
Christiane Brandt Faris, professor emeritus, recently released a book containing her memories from growing up in Germany under Nazi control. The book is titled The Nicest Nazi, and tells about Faris’ childhood.
Gold Star Building repairs scheduled for December completion
The long awaited renovation of the Gold Star Memorial Building is slated for completion in December.The building, constructed in 1953, was built in memory of the Methodists who died in World War II, according to an article alumna Amanda Alfanos wrote for The Oklahoman.
Chemistry lab renovation plans revealed
Students required to take chemistry as a part of their degree will have the opportunity to learn in upgraded laboratories.University officials unveiled the $2.2 million renovation plan to current chemistry laboratories in the Dawson-Loeffler Science and Mathematics building at an Oct. 22 trustee meeting.

OCU professor completes 24 hour race
Dr. Erik Heine, professor of music theory, completed a 24 hour run this October. The 24 the Hard Way race raised money for the Special Friends Foundation, an organization dedicated to providing information and resources for families with children suffering from Rubinstein-Taybi Syndrome.

OCU Law School to move downtown
The law school is on schedule to move to their downtown location, 800 N. Harvey, in December of 2014.The move was approved in October 2012, and the school is on schedule with their original plan of moving to their new location in 2014.
