Spring sick days: what you need to know about staying healthy
Germs are hitting OCU hard, and students are feeling the pinch of sick days at the start of the semester.Currently, several strains of illness are criss-crossing the OCU campus, including influenza, strep, mono, the common cold, and stomach bugs. While the more mild forms of these diseases can be treated with rest, lots of fluids, and over-the-counter medicine to control symptoms, the other diseases are very serious and should be treated by a medical professional.

New student health insurance plan begins
Students were charged $816 for health insurance coverage this fall, unless they petitioned to have the fee removed. OCU began requiring all domestic undergraduate students taking 12 hours or more, and all graduate students taking nine hours or more have health insurance coverage when enrolling. This new plan is in effect with the Affordable Care Act.
Campus health director resigns for hospital work
Brenda Johnston, director of campus health and disability services coordinator, spent her last day at OCU. Johnston is joining an infection control center in a community hospital. Disability services moves to academic affairs
Lee Hall, former director for first year experience, is the new disability services director. The disability services director assists students with learning limitations by providing accommodation letters to professors.
