The building that housed the incarnation of OCU, then called Epworth University, will once again be a school. Epworth United Methodist Church, 1901 N. Douglas, was sold to Positive Tomorrows, a private, tuition-free elementary school serving Oklahoma City’s homeless children.
Methodist scholarship, loan application opens
United Methodist students may be able to get more money for college than they previously thought.The Global Board of Higher Education and Ministry is offering scholarships and low-interest loans to students confirmed in the United Methodist Church.
Judaic New Testament scholar to present next Neustadt Lecture
Aaron Gale’s lecture, entitled “The Jewish Context of the New Testament,” will discuss archaeology and the Gospel of Matthew as they relate to the Jewish experience. The lecture will begin with a discussion between Gale and Professor Lisa Wolfe of OCU, who is a Christian Hebrew Bible scholar. Wolf is the endowed chair of Hebrew Bible, and teaches with the Wimberly School of Religion.
