Original university building sold to Positive Tomorrows
The building that housed the incarnation of OCU, then called Epworth University, will once again be a school. Epworth United Methodist Church, 1901 N. Douglas, was sold to Positive Tomorrows, a private, tuition-free elementary school serving Oklahoma City’s homeless children.

Prioritization report released to faculty, staff
The preliminary recommendations of the prioritization process were released to faculty and staff last week.Students did not receive any of the information or a password to the results.aThe prioritization process has been ongoing since the beginning of the academic year. The process is meant to help university officials see how programs use money and where budgets need to be modified.
Judaic New Testament scholar to present next Neustadt Lecture
Aaron Gale’s lecture, entitled “The Jewish Context of the New Testament,” will discuss archaeology and the Gospel of Matthew as they relate to the Jewish experience. The lecture will begin with a discussion between Gale and Professor Lisa Wolfe of OCU, who is a Christian Hebrew Bible scholar. Wolf is the endowed chair of Hebrew Bible, and teaches with the Wimberly School of Religion.
Let’s Talk About It book series features “As I Lay Dying”
The Let’s Talk About It, Oklahoma book discussion series will begin the new semester with a discussion of William Faulkner’s “As I Lay Dying.”The discussion will take place at 7 p.m. on Jan. 27 in room 151 of Walker Center.

Students looking to add a few extra points to their grade point average or who are anxious to take more challenging, stimulating classes will get the opportunity to do just that by applying for the honors program.
