While conducting room checks in the University Manor Apartments on Friday, a RA came across a loaded 45 caliber revolver in the top drawer of a cabinet next to a mattress in the bedroom. After being notified, an OCUPD officer took the Ruger, loaded with six live rounds, 56 (45 cal.) Blazer live rounds, 36 pills of Venlafaxine, one hatchet, and one tire checker Road Roadpro into evidence.
There was also alcohol found during the check, it was poured down the drain.
The Venlafaxine was prescribed to someone other than the student who’s room it was found in, it is a anti-depression, anxiety and panic drug.
In addition to the police, Vice President of Student Affairs Dr. Liz Donnelly, Asst. Dean of Students Jonathan Triplett and OCU Director of Housing Ade Bramuda were all present on the scene.
This incident follows up multiple instances of alcohol and marijuana found on campus during the past few weeks.
