The Kramer School of Nursing celebrated its grand opening with a ceremony as a part of the inauguration activities.
Donors, trustees, administrators, and students gathered April 6 on the third floor of the new part of the school to listen to and share words about the school’s history and its future.
Marvel Williamson, dean of the nursing school, opened the ceremony and introduced the various speakers.
“We held this ceremony on the unfinished third floor as a symbol of our future and our need,” she said. “We must keep the pace as our demand significantly increases.”
In celebration, the school was presented with a new sculpture from the university and a new endowed scholarship in honor of Professor Burton.
The ceremony included addresses from President Robert Henry, Donor Ladonna Meinders, Dr. Denise Burton, nursing school faculty, and Lindsey Voss, president of Student Nurses Association.
