The Distinguished Artist Series at Oklahoma City University continues at 3 p.m. Sunday with organist Melissa Plamann performing Bach, Mendelssohn, Eben, Vaughan Williams and Reger. The concert will be held in the Bishop W. Angie Smith Chapel.
Plamann specializes in 20th and 21st century American works. She presented a recital of American organ concerto premieres including the debut of Tilo Medek’s “Italienisches Konzert” at Emory University. She has also performed in a concert series in Germany and the Czech Republic.
Plamann is an assistant professor of music and the Wanda L. Bass chairwoman of organ at Oklahoma City University. She earned her bachelor’s degree in music from Valparaiso University, a master’s degree in music from Emory University and a doctorate in organ performance from Indiana University-Bloomington.
