The 2023-24 basketball season has been a struggle for both Oklahoma City University’s men’s and women’s basketball teams.
The men’s team currently holds a losing record of 3-12 on the season, with a four-game losing streak.
The team has a 1-6 record against their Sooner Athletic Conference opponents and has lost all six of their away games, dropping their most recent game against the University of North Texas at Dallas with a score of 72-85.
Their three wins have all come from home games, beating The Master’s University 78-75 in the Abe Lemons Classic, winning against Friends University during homecoming 83-68 and scraping by in their most recent win against Oklahoma Panhandle State University 80-78.
The women’s team has a marginally better record of 4-11 and is currently on a one-game winning streak following their victory against the University of North Texas at Dallas with a score of 60-42.
The team currently holds a 3-4 record against their Sooner Athletic Conference opponents and has lost seven out of eight of their away games.
Their four wins come from their season opener against Wiley College with a dominant score of 79-53, another dominant win against SAC opponent Central Christian College 87-31, a win against SAC opponent Oklahoma Panhandle 48-37 and their most recent win against the University of North Texas at Dallas, with a final score of 60-42.
Both teams still hold fifteen games on the season with the hopes of an SAC Tournament appearance hanging in the balance.
