OKLAHOMA CITY – OCU’s Kramer School of Nursing achieved its highest-ever marks on results for the national licensure exam for registered nurses which were released this week.
OCU’s 2010 graduates of the Traditional Bachelor of Science in Nursing program achieved a 100 percent pass rate on the NCLEX-RN exam on their first attempt. The pass rate for all nursing graduates from OCU on their first attempt is 98.3 percent for 2010. The Kramer School of Nursing boasts a 97 percent pass rate for its three-year average.
“This is a tremendous achievement,” said Kramer School of Nursing Dean Marvel Williamson. “The NCLEX-RN pass rate is the most commonly used, universal measure of the quality of a nursing school and demonstrates the ability of a school to prepare its students for their careers.”
Williamson noted that the pass rate statewide remained steady in Oklahoma despite a decrease in the national average in part because of the exemplary performance by OCU nursing graduates.
