Dear Ms. Marty Pants,
Help! I can’t do work at my house because my grandma keeps asking me to find crocheting patterns for her. What do I do?
Sincerely, Distracted Student
Dear Distracted Student,
That’s so sweet! Time spent with family is so valuable. My advice is to just explain this to your teachers, and I’m sure they’ll excuse you from any assignments. Better yet, why don’t you crochet them blankets!
Dear Ms. Marty Pants,
I’m going to take the Pass/Fail option for my classes. I have pretty good grades at the moment, so I can’t find any motivation to finish these final projects knowing I’m already going to pass the classes. Any advice?
Sincerely, A Case of Senioritis
Dear A Case of Senioritis,
I know it can be hard to find motivation when we’re not meeting face to face. For many people, classes are the one thing they have to keep them busy. Once they’re over, you may find yourself with nothing to do every day and still not able to work. My advice is to give 110% on your final projects and work on them all summer to stay busy. It won’t matter if you don’t turn them in on time because, like you said, you can just opt for the Pass/Fail option!
Dear Ms. Marty Pants,
I’m glad we’re going to have an in-person graduation at some point, but I’m still pretty bummed we won’t get to actually have the ceremony the day we officially graduate. Do you have any ideas for making the virtual ceremony fun?
Sincerely, Graduating Senior
Dear Graduating Senior,
Why don’t you pair the virtual graduation ceremony with a senior prank on your family? If they get upset, you can just say it was something you missed out on in your last days of college, and they’ll let you have your moment.
Sincerely, Ms. Marty Pants
