OrgSync is a platform for OCU organizations to manage operations, members and events.
Levi Harrel, director of student engagement, said the university has been utilizing OrgSync for at least the last five years.
“All students, faculty, staff, and administrators at the university have an OrgSync account,” Harrel said.
Everyone on campus is able to access OrgSync by using their BlueLink username and password to log onto orgsync.com. It gives access to each organization’s leadership council, constitution and roster. It also maintains all necessary forms for events on campus, such as catering or reserving event space.
“If you table outside the caf, you need to fill out a form. If you want free Coca-Cola or beverages at your event, you need to fill out the Coca-Cola request form,” Harrel said.
Haley Stiles, assistant director of student engagement, said students aren’t fully informed on how to use the program.
“OrgSync is underutilized right now on campus, and I think it is because students don’t fully know how to use it. “I hope that student organizations will start utilizing OrgSync more because it truly is a great tool to promote your organization, and to give information to members and potential new members,” Stiles said.
Harrel said he thinks even though students are hesitant to use it, OrgSync is an easy system to use.
“Many students seem to be cautious when it comes to utilizing OrgSync, but it is fairly user-friendly once you actually start using it,” Harrel said.
