During rapid-fire interviews, I ask the interviewee silly questions and force them to answer as quickly as possible, on their first impulse.
In her rapid-fire interview, Ashleigh Robinson, music theatre sophomore compares herself to inanimate objects and shares her thoughts on everything from essential oils to toast.
Q: What’s your favorite part of Gamma Phi Beta’s philanthropy week?
A: Obviously Pancake Palooza. I love eating all the gourmet pancakes, especially the pumpkin white chocolate ones.
Q: What’s the coolest trip you’ve ever taken?
A: Costa Rica, 2009, I think. I was in eighth grade, and I got to live on a mountain for a week.
Q: If you were a type of stationery, what type would you be?
A: Cardstock
Q: Any particular reason?
A: Um, because it’s reliable but fancy and not too bougie
Q: Which genre of music is most underrated?
A: Jazz
Q: What one word do you want people to use to describe you?
A: Joyful
Q: What are your thoughts on essential oils?
A: Overrated
Q: What was your favorite childhood cartoon?
A: I hate cartoons.
Q: Do you think subspecies are real?
A: WHAT
Q: Which vegetable do you think you most resemble?
A: Um, a potato
Q: What musical do you never want to be in?
A: Oh my goodness. Never? Uh, can I come back to that one?
Q: If you could dissect any animal, which would you dissect?
A: A human

A: Chunky potato with bacon bits in a bread bowl from Panera
Q: If you could have one object that is germ-free, which object would you choose?
A: Probably my cell phone
Q: What is the connotation of bugs that first comes to mind?
A: Ew
Q: What is the most terrifying thing you can think of?
A: Being alone
Q: Please name your three favorite toes.
A: On my foot? Uh, my second toe, my pinkie toe, and my third toe.
Q: Okay, great, but give them names.
A: Gerald, Heidi, and Louisa

A: Content
Q: What’s a question for me?
A: Um.. Are you going to see Godspell this weekend?
Q: What’s something about you that few people know?
A: I played the oboe for three years
Q: What’s your opinion on toast?
A: I love toast. Especially whole grain with a little butter and honey.
Q: What else should I know about you?
A: Join Black Student Association. Because I’m the president.
Q: Back to what musical do you want to be in?
A: I don’t know, Cats? But if OCU cast me in it, I’d be in it.
