Sometimes, students cannot cram the desired amount of Halloween excitement and festivities into one day out of the year. Luckily, OCU and the surrounding community recognize this need and offer holiday celebrations throughout the week.
USITT Pie-Your-Professor:
The United States Institute for Theatre Technology plans to raise funds by asking students to throw pies in the faces of their professors or classmates. Students may throw a pie for $3 or two pies for $5. Targets, who volunteered for time slots throughout the event, include Jaime Dimas and Tucker Irey, design and production juniors, Jason Foreman professor of scenic design, and Larry Heyman, professor of properties design and fabrication, among other students and faculty members from the theatre school. The target who earns the most money will win a pie baked by LukE Hadsall, the school’s technical director. USITT will host their event from 2-5p.m. Oct. 23 on the quad.
Pumpkinville:
This Halloween festival features several events for adults and children. During the cider press demonstration and tasting, participants will learn how to make cider from an old fashioned cider press. They will then drink the fruits of their it labor.
