More than 130 women participated in sorority rush during Formal Recruitment Aug. 19 through Aug. 22.
Bid Day was Sunday on the campus quad. The new sorority members ran from Watson Lounge inside Bishop W. Angie Smith Chapel to the quad, where their new sisters stood waiting.
“We work hard during recruitment,” said Danielle Petersen, music theater senior and Alpha Chi Omega member. “We are always so excited to meet the lovely ladies that come to our house.”
Alpha Chi Omega accepted 27 new members, while Alpha Phi and Phi Mu gained 33 new members. Gamma Phi Beta gained 28 new members.
“I am really happy and have no regrets from doing recruitment,” said Peighton Hornung, acting freshman and Alpha Chi Omega member. “I am now surrounded by this huge family.”
The Interfraternity Council will begin their formal fall rush tonight with parties at the fraternity houses.
“Being Greek is something that it incredibly beneficial because it prepares them for life post graduation and teaches leadership skills,” said Mason Maidt, IFC president. “I think everyone should do it.”
