Freshmen packed Petree Recital Hall in Kirkpatrick Fine Arts Center to hear from all the Greek organizations on campus at the Greek Info Meeting.
Panhellenic and Inter-Fraternity Council hosted the meeting to meet and hear from the presidents of each fraternity and sorority. During the meeting, the presidents introduced themselves and their organizations philanthropy and gave brief testimony on why they decided to go Greek.
“We want to make sure that they are well informed on everything before they go into recruitment,” said Levi Harrell, assistant director of student life. “I think that the info meeting will help students understand how the process works and know a little more about what they are going to do.”
The four sororities on campus are:
- Gamma Phi Beta
- Alpha Phi
- Alpha Chi Omega
- Phi Mu
The three fraternities on campus are:
- Lambda Chi Alpha
- Kappa Sigma
- Phi Gamma Delta or FIJI
“I am excited to go through recruitment and meet all these new people,” said Jessica Blume, dance freshman. “I am slightly nervous but I think it will be fun.”
Registration for sorority formal recruitment closes at 11 p.m. Aug. 18. Registration for fraternity formal recruitment will stay open until Aug. 27.
