- Western star Roy Rogers is headed to Broadway, and Alan Menken is coming along for the ride. Menken, of Aladdin and The Little Mermaid fame, will pen some new tunes for Happy Trails, a new biographical musical about the King of the Cowboys. The show is slated for a 2016 premiere. - Robert Redford kicked off this year’s Sundance Film Festival with a few words about change. “I believe change is inevitable,” Redford said at the festival’s opening press conference. “I think we can see there are some people that go with change. There are others that don’t, because they are afraid of change.” Redford also presented his views on television, saying that it’s currently “advancing faster than major filmmaking.” To read more of Redford’s comments, click here.
- 12 Years a Slave star Chiwetel Ejiofor is being eyed for a role opposite Benedict Cumberbatch in Marvel’s upcoming Doctor Strange. No details have been released regarding his potential character. Cumberbatch is playing the film’s title role. For more on the project, click here.
