A notable foreign correspondent will host a lecture on Iran and the United States.
Stephen Kinzer will present a presentation titled “Iran and the United States: Permanent Enemies or Natural Partners?” at 5:45 p.m. on Nov. 21 in the Meinders School of Business.
Kinzer currently works as a visiting fellow at Brown University’s Watson Institute for International Studies. During his career as a foreign correspondent, he has covered more than 50 countries on five continents. The Washington Post listed Kinzer “among the best in popular foreign policy storytelling.”
While serving as a foreign correspondent and bureau chief for the New York Times, Kinzer worked in Nicaragua, Germany and Turkey. He was appointed national culture correspondent for the Times, and has also taught journalism, political science and international relations at Northwestern University and Boston University.
Kinzer is the author of many succesful books on foreign policy, including All the Shah’s Men, which details the roots of Middle Eastern issues, and Blood of Brothers, which explores life and war in Nicaragua.
