The OCU Stars men’s soccer team won 4-3 against Oklahoma Baptist on Tuesday, Oct. 21.
The team is now ranked at the top of the men’s soccer standings in the Sooner Conference, coming away with a four win streak.
Danny Frid, business administration senior, scored the winning goal during the second overtime period, edging the Stars into a win. Though the Stars led 3-1 at half time, the opponents played a strong second half, leaving the teams tied.
In the final minutes of the game, Ruy Vaz, film production and philosophy senior, was tripped by an opposing player inside the 18-yard box, awarding the Stars a penalty kick. Frid shot and scored, gaining his fourth goal of the season and earning the Stars a close victory.
The men’s soccer team will play Mid-American Christian University at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 25 at Evangel Field.
