Police are searching for a man accused of sexually assaulting a female student on campus.
They do not think the man is an OCU student because he ran off campus following the assault, Police Chief Bradd Brown said Sept. 29.
The man is described as a black male in his early- to mid-20s.
The assault occurred at about 2:30 a.m. Sept. 28 outside Draper Hall dormitory. The woman called the university police department following the assault, Brown said.
The suspect description came from interviews following the assault, said Sandy Pantlik, senior director of university relations.
Officials said they expect a full report of the incident to be available by Sept. 30.
“Our goal is to be open and transparent, and the first thing is safety and protecting the victim,” Pantlik said.
Anyone with information about the assault or needing a police escort when walking across campus can call OCUPD at (405) 208-5001.
