The OCU Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning will host “OCU Week at the Museum,” from Sept. 9-14 at the Oklahoma City Museum of Art.
All faculty, staff, and students are invited to attend the museum for free (OCU ID is required for entry).
Currently, the museum is featuring the exhibit: “Gods and Heroes: Masterpieces from the Ecole des Beaux-Arts, Paris,” which features paintings and sculptures on loan from the first fine arts school in Paris.
The exhibit features work from notable artists, including Rembrandt, Albrecht Duhrer, and Jacques-Louis David.
Byron Chamber, assistant curator of education for the museum, will host two presentations on the exhibit, from noon-12:50 pm and from 2:00-2:50 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 3, in room 214 of the Dulaney-Browne Library. The presentations will detail “the history of one of Europe’s most celebrated and influential art academies.”
The Oklahoma City Museum of Art is located at 415 Couch Drive.
