A symposium focusing on peacemaking through education, networking and advocacy will be coming to campus.
The Creative Peacemaking Symposium is scheduled for March 7-8 in the Kramer School of Nursing.
The symposium will focus on challenges and opportunities facing students, community leaders, and social and cultural organizations, and address issues related to peace.
Speakers include:
-Robertson Work, adjunct professor of public administration at New York University;
-Ernesto Cortes, founding organizer of the Industrial Areas Foundation;
-Nathaniel Batchelder, director of Peace House Oklahoma City.
The symposium is presented thanks to the sponsorship of Oklahoma City University, Oikos Scholars Program, the Social and Ecological Responsibility Initiative, VOICE Oklahoma City, and the Institute of Cultural Affairs in the USA.
Registration costs $75 in advance or $80 at the door. Registration costs include lunch on Friday and Saturday.
