The 24 hour computer lab has relocated.
With the expansion of the Student Life Office, the 24 hour computer lab has moved. The former lab was located behind Alvin’s across from the Student Government Office. The new office is located in a nook inside the Student Government Office.
The new computer lab will be open as long as the University Center is open and will not require keycard entry.
The new location only has 6 computers and 1 copier and printer. While this is significantly less than the old lab, Chief Information Officer Gerry Hunt assures that they will continue to assess the use of the lab and make adjustments as needed.
“We may decide we need to expand…we will keep monitoring it,” Hunt said.
While the lab did get busy around midterms and finals the lab was not normally packed. Hunt said that while there are fewer computers, given the typical load of the lab, it should be enough.
“I think the move will allow the Student Life Staff the ability to be more available without taking away too many computers,” Trey Witzel religion senior said.
