Leaving the Scene of a Non-Injury Collision Saturday, 2-23-13 8:30am; West Fine Art parking lot; Incident # 13-02-032; driver # 1: student, vehicle: white 2012 Chevrolet van; owner of vehicle # 2: Meshal Munawir Almutari (ex-OCU student), vehicle: tan 1997 Toyota Camry; Officer Roland Garrett was dispatched to a non-injury vehicle collision at the West Fine Arts parking lot. Upon arrival he met with driver # 1 who said her unoccupied parked vehicle was struck by a vehicle that left the scene. An uninvolved student/pedestrian obtained the license plate number of a tan van as it left the scene. A registration check revealed the name of an ex-OCU student. The officer located the parked unoccupied van at the New Law School parking lot. Damage to both vehicles was minor. Vehicle # 2 had white transfer at the point of impact. Officer Garrett will attempt to locate the driver of the van. At this stage of the investigation the driver of Vehicle # 2 has not been legally established.
Larceny of Merchandise from Retailer or Wholesaler Saturday, 3-2-13 6:40pm; Buy for Less Market, 2500 N. Pennsylvania Avenue; Incident # 13-03-001; arrested: Clarence Lee Conway (no OCU affiliation); reporting person: Security Officer Byron Roberts (no OCU affiliation); witness: Store Manager Cary Evans (no OCU affiliation); evidence: photos of 5 porterhouse steaks ($61.15) and surveillance video of suspect committing the larceny; Officer Michael Haynes was dispatched to the Buy for Less Market regarding a shoplifter. Upon arrival he met with Security Officer Byron Roberts and suspect Clarence Conway at the security office. The officer was informed that the manager observed the suspect to hide the above evidence inside of his jacket and pass by the point of purchase. He was taken into custody as he attempted to exit the main front doors. The officer obtained written statements and had the manager sign an Oklahoma Uniform Violations Complaint form. Mr. Conway was transported to the Oklahoma County Detention Center.
Public Intoxication Sunday, 3-3-13- 12:32am; Kamps, 1312 NW 25th St; Incident # 13-03-002; arrested: OCU student: reporting person: James Vu (owner of Kamps); Sergeant John Jackson was dispatched to Kamps in reference to an intoxicated adult male urinating in public. Upon arrival he met with the owner inside of the business with the student/offender next to him. Mr. Vu said the student was in the (unauthorized) kitchen area and urinated on the floor in front of the restrooms. Sergeant Jackson observed the student to be unsteady on his feet with bloodshot eyes and the odor of an alcoholic beverage about his breath and person. He was taken into custody and transported to thePublic Inebriation Alternative Center where he registered a BAC of .130%. This incident will be forwarded to Dean of Students Dr. Liz Donnelly and Assistant Dean Josh Waddell for administrative adjudication.
Fugitive from Justice (felony Contempt of Court) Sunday, 3-3-13 2:12pm; 1500 NW 23rd; Incident # 13-03-003; arrested: (transient) Richard Kenneth Parker (no OCU affiliation); driver: Francis Marie Floyd (no OCU affiliation); Officer Josh Pankowsky stopped a silver Dodge Neon in the 1500 block of NW 23rd regarding an expired license plate. The passenger, Richard Parker (no OCU affiliation), had an outstanding arrest warrant from Garfield County for Contempt of Court stemming from an original charge of felony Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance. Mr. Parker was arrested and transported to the Oklahoma County Detention Center for eventual transfer to the Garfield County Detention Center. The driver was issued several traffic citations and was allowed to leave.
Public Intoxication Monday, 3-4-13 1:04am; J.R. Homsey Drive; Incident # 13-03-004; taken into custody: student; Officer Michael Haynes observed an adult male at Kentucky Avenue and J.R. Homsey Drive. He identified the person as an OCU student. The officer observed him to be unsteady on his feet with the odor of an alcoholic beverage about his breath and person. He also had slurred speech and bloodshot eyes. The student was boisterous and uncooperative. He was taken into custody and transported to the Public Inebriation Alternative Center where he registered a BAC of .085 %. This incident will be forwarded to Dean of Student Dr. Liz Donnelly and Assistant Dean Josh Waddell for administrative adjudication.
