Significant changes occurred to Oklahoma City University’s administration during the fall semester, following the departure of three key officials.
Vice President of University Advancement Lynann Sterk-Brooks, Chief Financial Officer Kevan Buck and Vice President of Human Resources Joey Croslin each decided to pursue new employment opportunities before the new year.
The abrupt departure of these individuals within their respective departments can naturally raise questions about the nature of these changes and their impact at the university.
We contacted Nick Trougakos, Senior Director of Communications and Marketing, to ask how these changes came about, and what this will mean for the future of OCU.
He explained that as with any employee’s departure, there will be a transitional period until a replacement is named, and that interim leaders are provided to ensure a smooth transition and to preserve these positions’ strong momentum.
The Office of University Advancement is already under new leadership following Koby Harrington’s appointment as vice president.
A national search for the next CFO is underway; however, plans for the new leadership within the Human Resources department are being finalized and will be shared with the campus in the coming weeks.
Trougakos expressed enthusiasm about the new opportunities and viewpoints these new leaders will provide.
With these new changes, everyone within the departments is optimistic and dedicated to fostering an environment of growth during this new transitional period.
