Administrators at Oklahoma City University recently gathered to make minor updates to its Non-Discrimination Policy and Equity Resolution Process after identifying inconsistencies in its messaging. Policy adjustments focused on extending response times in the appeals and reporting processes and eliminating confusing verbiage. It also highlights the university’s new digital reporting platform: ReportIt.okcu.edu.
These changes were approved by President Kenneth Evans and will be implemented on an interim basis, pending approval from the Board of Trustees.
University officials plan to make additional adjustments to the policy during the spring term, following new guidance from the Federal Department of Education.
The university has named Dr. Amy Ayres the Interim Title IX Coordinator until further notice, following the departure of Joey Croslin, former Vice President of Human Relations and Title IX coordinator. Ayres previously served as the Deputy Title IX Coordinator.
Students are encouraged to reach out to Ayres or Kristi Pendleton, Civil Rights Investigator, regarding questions about recent decisions.
