The Oklahoma City men’s and women’s wrestling seasons kicked off on October 28th with the OCU Inner Squad Duals.
The women’s squad is set to compete at ten meets this year, not including post-season matches, while the men’s squad is slated for eleven.
Both squads have depth, with nineteen athletes on each roster.
The men’s team is led by head coach, Justin Ensign, assisted by Josh Powell and Brian Picklo.
Ensign said that he is, “very excited about this season.”
He explained that, “we’re led by two, two-time all-Americans in Cade Manion and Keegan Luton,” but that, “we have five other wrestlers with national tournament experience,” he said.
Ensign explained that, “we returned all of the guys from last year, but we’ve added some great youth.”
The men’s team is made up of junior, Grant Baber, sophomore, Skyler Bean, sophomore, Hayden Brown, freshman, Cooper Cook, sophomore, Mannix Faworski, junior, Dezmen Loving, junior, Keegan Luton, junior, Kolbe Madron, senior, Cooper Mahaffey, junior, Cade Manion, freshman, Michael McCracken, freshman, Bryce Milster, freshman, Cade Nicholas, freshman, Braden Potts, freshman, Kobe Smith, junior, Kaleb Stone, junior, Moses Torres, senior, Drake Vannoy and sophomore, Trinit Zweifel.
The women’s squad is led by head coach Nicole Tyson, with William McKinney holding down the role of assistant coach.
