The Oklahoma City University School of Theatre presents its final mainstage show of the fall semester, Paradise by Kae Tempest. The show is a new take on the classic Greek legend of Philoctetes, a celebrated wartime hero turned into an outcast, who, after being stranded on a desolate island for ten years changes plans from escape to revenge.
The cast is led by Lynnli Wiseman as Philoctetes, Ella Carson as Neoptolemus, Joy Stachmus as Odysseus, Eloka Dike as Jelly, Aniya Finley as Tayir, Delaney Horton as Magdalena, Kaye Lau as Tishani, Mercy Olguin as Aunty, Crei Pierson as Yasmeen, Kathryn-Ximena Rojas as Shiloh, Keara Smith as Nam, Reagan Townley as Zuleika and Nixon Sanchez and Victoria Butler as chorus swings. Paradise is directed by OCU guest artist Leslie Swackhamer.
The production team includes stage manager Hal Benson, assistant stage managers Kelsi Seiter and Sara Ramirez Correal, as well as student designers Lauren McPherson, scenic design, Dexter Mosburg, costume design, and Ivy Walker, lighting design, with respective assistants Tess Rosen, Ella Figiera, and Jake Johnson.
