The hopes of winning a Sooner Athletic Conference championship were crushed for the men’s soccer, women’s soccer and women’s volleyball teams as all three fell in the semifinal rounds for their respective tournaments.
The men’s soccer team was outscored 3-1 by the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma’s Drovers on November 6th, while the women’s soccer team was outscored 1-0 by the USAO Drovers just one day later.
The women’s volleyball team fought to the end but fell in five sets against the one-seeded Southwestern Assemblies of God University’s Lions.
The men’s soccer team walked away from the season with a .500-win percentage, leaving their 2023 record as 8-8-3, with their conference record being 3-4-1.
The women’s soccer team ended their season with a .639-win percentage, leaving their 2023 record as 11-6-1, with their conference record being 7-2.
The women’s volleyball team ended their season with a win percentage of .519, with an overall record of 14-13, and a 12-8 conference record.
These tournament woes didn’t stop the stars from having great seasons, however, with junior volleyball players Ruby Kelley and Rylee Steward being named first-team all-SAC.
Freshman Natalie Adams and junior Kaitlyn Dunlap of the women’s volleyball team were both named to the second-team all-conference team as well.
