The Wanda Bass School of Music is excited to announce this semester’s musical spotlight, The Light in the Piazza. The musical follows a tale of love, regret and new beginnings as a mother and daughter embark on parallel journeys of self-discovery during a trip to Italy, where their lives are transformed by a chance encounter with a lost hat.
The cast is led by Caroline Pillow/Anna-Marie Wright as Margret Johnson, Emily Trnka/Kat Smith as Clara Johnson, Catherine DeVincenzi/Lianna Paglia as Franca Naccarelli, Michael Mariniello/Lucas Semrau as Signora Naccarelli, Jared Barbee/Niko Theriault as Giuseppe Naccarelli and Zane Brolin/Andrew Massey as Signor Naccarelli. The main cast is supported by an eight-member ensemble including Jane Ahn, Cameron Brown, Hannah Kurowski, Morgan Lane, Nicholas Montgomery, Ezra Moore, Alyssa Tanti and Tim Trolio.
Light in the Piazza is directed by Karen Miller with assistant directors Katie Garthe and Kyra Gomez. The production team includes stage manager Amelia McKey, assistant stage manager Mars McCulley, lighting designer Kennedy Nichols and assistant lighting designer Lexi Rose.
