The School of Theatre produced “On to Victory: Propaganda Plays of the Woman Suffrage Movement,” a collection of plays about women’s suffrage. The collection includes plays written by suffragists in the late 1800s and early 1900s.
The show was 8 p.m. Feb. 20-22 and 2 p.m. Feb. 23 in Black Box Theater in Wanda L. Bass School of Music.
Karis McMurry, acting freshman, walks through the lobby in protest. Oliver Kennedy and Fabius Bascon, acting sophomores, play “suffragents.” Lily Hickey, theater and performance senior, and Tessa Neeno, theater and performance junior, laugh over a cup of tea. Deanna Cooper, acting sophomore, plays a suffragist. Jo Muscarella, acting sophomore, plays a suffragist. Neeno speaks out against suffrage. Issac Sorell, acting junior, comforts Cooper before her court case. Bascon listens to the judge and the prosecutor discuss a court case. Amaya Perkins and Emily Zimmerman, acting sophomores, and Hickey listen to the verdict given by the judge. Liv Story, acting sophomore, and Kelsey Oden, acting freshman, pretend to be parrots to represent men treating women like pets. Alexandra Eckelbarger, acting sophomore, sings about women’s suffrage. Hickey listens as women discuss the importance of suffrage. Sean Baisden, acting sophomore, holds a sign that reads “boys will be good people.” The cast of ‘On to Victory’ reflect upon their victory.
