OCU Stripped presented the world premiere of “June By The Sea,” an original musical created by music theater/composition senior Adam LaPorte. The show explores building relationships, crossing boundaries and revealing unbelievable truths through the lens of elite families on summer vacation.
The show was performed at 8 p.m. Feb. 7 and 8 in Petree Recital Hall in Kirkpatrick Fine Arts Center.
The cast performs the opening number of the show. Ella Dolynchuk, music theater freshman playing “June Klepper,” Kaley McConnaughey, music theater junior playing “Sara Klepper,” and Jacob Arnold, music theater junior playing “Charlie Bennett,” hiding to listen to their conversation. Dolynchuk and Arnold perform “Shadow Reading.” Leah Mossman, music theater sophomore playing “Janie Pink,” and Katie Allsup, music theater junior playing her mother, “Polly Pink.” Arnold and Mossman discuss research tactics. McConnaughey and Arnold perform “My Poor Sister.” McConnaughey comforting Dolynchuk, as the Klepper sisters, in “Everything I Have (I).” Chance Ingalls, music theater sophomore playing “Bruce Brewer,” speaks aggressively to Arnold. Allsup and Sam Pottinger, music theater sophomore, playing Polly and “Dr. Allen Pink.” Mossman gifts Dolynchuck with a book. The cast performs “Daytime.” Mossman and Dolynchuk perform “Growing Old.” McConnaughey and Arnold perform “Everything’s Coming Together.” The cast hits their final pose in “Everything’s Coming Together.” McConnaughey and Arnold perform “Blue.” Arnold reaches to touch the water in the ocean. Dolynchuk learning to swim, lifted by Ingalls, Pottinger, and Cesar Carreno, music theater sophomore. Mossman and Dolynchuk look out at the sky. Mossman performs “Have I Ever Been in Love.” Dolynchuk performs “I Want to Know Everything” Mossman and Arnold perform “I Want to Know Everything.” The cast performs “I Want to Know Everything (Septet).” Allsup introduces Dolynchuk to the guests at the June soiree. Mossman and Dolynchuk perform “I Must Love You.” Ella performs “That Doesn’t Scare Me.” The cast takes their final bow.
