Student Activities Council, a branch of Student Government Association, will host the annual end of the year celebration, Big Event, at Frontier City Theme Park, 11501 N. I-35 Service Road.
Students will have free admission to the park from 6-9 p.m. April 25.
Morgan Wanamaker, dance junior and SAC chief commissioner, is in charge of the event.
“Students get an all-inclusive time. The entire park is just for us for three hours,” Wanamaker said. “There will barely be any lines for rides, besides fellow students.”
When entering the park, students will receive free admission, parking and a $10 voucher to cover one meal.
Frontier City was also chosen for the event’s venue in 2014 and 2017.
Wanamaker said she wanted students to experience a large, off-campus event.
“I was also in charge of back to school bash, and I did it on campus, and that event is mostly for the freshman to come and see that we do fun events on campus,” Wanamaker said. “Since we are all now accustomed to the university, I wanted to end the semester with something off-campus we can enjoy for free.”
Wanamaker said she wants this event to be a good finale to the semester.
“SAC has had its ups and downs, but we want to end the year on a high note and make sure everyone enjoys our final event of the semester,” Wanamaker said.
Reid Powell, political science/philosophy/economics freshman, said he looks forward to the event.
“I love that they are doing Big Event the week before finals. I think it will be a great opportunity for students to have some fun before a weekend full of studying,” Powell said. “I’m looking forward to hanging out with my friends before we all part ways for the summer.”
