This week, I ventured out to a restaurant that I had previously delivered from for Postmates. Nashbird is a fried-chicken joint on 9th street, just north of S&B and east of Iguana. I ordered a meal and took it home to maximize my productivity this weekend.
Since I was dealing with my capstone and another large project with due dates this week, I decided to order to-go. The website for Nashbird came up quickly, and I loved how neat the site was and how easy it was to find the information I needed. They also had an online ordering portal for to-go orders, which I loved. However, the items on the ordering portal didn’t really match what was on the menu, so I ended up having to change my order from what I originally wanted.
I ordered the “Nashvillian”; a fried chicken sandwich with bacon, mac & cheese and ranch on a buttery roll, with onion rings on the side. My total was a little less than $12, which was pricier than I expected. They predicted the order being ready in half an hour, so I finished washing the dishes and putting away my clean laundry before driving out to the restaurant.
Parking was very easy, as Nashbird shares their parking lot with S&B. I walked in, requested my order, and left within five minutes. While I was waiting, I got a chance to admire the porch in the front of the store, and the mysterious circular staircase in the middle of the restaurant that led to a secret extra seating area.
After I got home and set-up my supreme study spread, I dug in. The sandwich was fantastic all around: the flavors meshed well, the chicken had just enough of a “kick”, and all of the textures complemented each other. The onion rings had a nice chew and a good level of crispiness on the outside. Even though this meal was pricier than I would normally spend, I thought it was worth the money based on the quantity and quality of the food. I give Nashbird a 8/10 for this experience.
I only have a few reviews left! If you have any recommendations for me, let me know in the comments!
