The OCU women’s basketball team had a four-game winning streak at the 2019 NAIA Division I Women’s Basketball Championship and placed runner-up at the final game.
The tournament was from March 13-19 in Billings, Montana. The team defeated Arizona Christian University (75-71), Carroll College (60-59), Clarke University (76-72), and Our Lady of the Lake University (85-70).
The Stars played against Montana Western yesterday at 7 p.m., where they lost 59-75.
The school hosted a viewing party at 7 p.m. on March 19 in the Leichter lounge in Abe Lemons arena in Henry J. Freede Wellness and Activity Center.
Senior Guard and Team Captain Michaela Kay said she was proud of her team.
“This run in the tournament has been amazing. We were clicking and playing our game which lead to our wins,” Kay said. “It was a great experience, and I’m proud of how far we made it.”
