The university is closed until 5 p.m. Feb. 7 due to icy weather conditions.
A Blue Alert was sent to the campus community at 6:17 a.m. regarding the closing.
“The university is closed today due to inclement weather,” according to the email. “A decision about evening activities will be announced later today.”

Police Chief Jennifer Rodgers wrote in an email that the icy conditions have made roads and walkways dangerous.
“Due to icy conditions, please limit your travel as much as possible today,” she wrote. “OCU Facilities is currently working to clear sidewalks and building entrances.”
The university will reopen at 5 p.m., according to the most recent Blue Alert.
“Classes 5:30 p.m. and later as well as evening activities will be held as scheduled,” the email reads.
The caf will be open during its regular hours today, but The Market at Alvin’s and Chick-fil-A will close at 9 p.m.
