Student Activities Council’s Free Movie Night was canceled due to unrevealed reasons.
The Free Movie Night was originally scheduled for Feb. 22, but, due to inclement weather, the university closed, and SGA officials rescheduled the event for March 1.
Lucas Freeman, SGA public relations secretary, sent out an email March 1 on behalf of SGA, writing that the event was canceled. No reason was given for the cancellation. The email read:
Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, the Free Movie Night tonight is canceled. You have our most sincere apologies.
Monica Hiller, Student Activities Council vice president, said SGA officials will release a statement regarding the cancellation, but the officials are refusing to comment at this time.
This is the second time Free Movie Night has been postponed during the 2017-18 academic year. The first was Oct. 19 because of an Oklahoma City Thunder basketball game.
Maristella Gullo, business administration senior, said she was going to watch a movie.
“I was going to see Black Panther. I’m disappointed,” she said. “I guess I’ll go out to eat instead.”
