Student Activities Council is trying to increase student involvement in their events this semester.
Stress Relief Week is being renamed “BrainScape.” It will be Oct. 9-13. Monica Hiller, SAC vice president, said “Stress Relief Week” implies people should be stressed.
“We’re hoping the name BrainScape will improve interest and take away the pressure of feeling like you have to be stressed,” she said.
The events students have become familiar with like Midnight Breakfast and therapy dogs will still take place, but there will be additional activities as well, Hiller said.
“The events help me relax a bit and help remind myself that that taking a brain break is a good idea,” said Lindsay Steinberg, acting junior. “I think as students here, sometimes we forget to take care of ourselves. We just need those little reminders sometimes.”
SAC will be handing out fliers in front of the caf and sending out emails with more information in the future. Students can also check the SGA Facebook page for more information.
“We want to make SAC more accessible to students,” Hiller said. “Instead of students having to come to us, we want to be able to go to them.”
