The OCU film department will host the Broken Emmys at 7:30 p.m. April 25 in the Dawson-Loeffler Center screening room.
The Broken Emmys is an event in which some students will screen their original work for the public. Any OCU student can submit work.
The event was organized by the film sophomores as an assignment for one of their classes.
This will be the first year for the event.
Lysa Engle, film sophomore, said she is excited to see submissions from everyone.
“I love that we’re doing this and making our department more well-known on campus. I think it’s cool that we’ve opened up submissions for the whole campus, and I hope we get to see many things from everyone here,” Engle said.
Featured films for the festival are not yet chosen.
The event is free to the public. If students would like to submit a film, they should do so by April 20. To submit a piece, contact Jacob Keen at jakeen@my.okcu.edu.
“I really hope that a lot of people can make it. People from all majors are welcome, and we would love to share our work,” said Kyla Brugel, film junior.
