OCU may be famous for producing Tony Award-winning performers, but several Oscar-winning movies have plots inspired by the OCU campus. Here are some examples:
1. Birdman
Student known for playing Danny in Grease during high school hasn’t been cast at OCU. Because he needs constant praise, he creates a show that stars himself and gets super worked up about the reviews.
2. Room
A female student gets trapped in a practice room long enough to have a child and then has to face the real world.
3. Inside Out
A bunch of people experience really extreme emotions all at once.
4. The Iron Lady
5. Les Miserables
Nobody can afford food, everyone sings a lot and the perfectly flawless girl ends up single.
6. La La Land
Cinematographers take some footage of an average day on the OCU campus. . . WAIT, JUST KIDDING! That’s a lie. Suckers.
7. Anna Karenina
Chekhov class, directed by D. Lance Marsh.
8. Black Swan
Dancers are ridiculously talented and impressive but also sometimes scary as hell.
9. Grand Budapest Hotel
10. Avatar
Blue star people, who are not like normal humans, live in a strange world that’s not like normal Earth.
11. Milk
People are gay and political.
12. Hugo
A bunch of kids miss their parents and run around getting into trouble. Also, there’s a giant clock that doesn’t always work.
