The Ann Lacy School of Dance and Entertainment will present its annual Christmas extravaganza Home For the Holidays.
Home for the Holidays will have shows from Dec. 8-11 in Kirkpatrick Auditorium in Kirkpatrick Fine Arts Center. Showtimes are
- 8 p.m. Thursday and Friday,
- 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. Saturday, and
- 2 p.m. Saturday.
The show features a variety of the dancing styles like jazz, tap and ballet. It is “the best Broadway-style dance Christmas holiday extravaganza west of New York City,” according to okcu.edu.
The fast-paced and stunningly beautiful production has something for every member of the family and puts audiences in the holiday spirit with dances ranging from a kickline of beautiful Santa helpers, tap dancing soldiers, handsome men partnering delicate ballerinas and more, followed by a warm and reverent celebration of Christ’s birth.”
Kate Myers, dance freshman, said it will be a fun and festive show.
“There is a lot of fun and energetic dances set to Christmas music that represent different cultures,” she said. “It will showcase different aspects of our technique.”
The entire faculty of the Ann Lacy School of Dance is involved with choreographing or managing the show. Every student in the school is either performing, working backstage, costuming, or working the front of the house.
However, the overall show is written and directed by Jo Rowan, professor of dance and chairman of the Ann Lacy School of American Dance.

Megan Carter, dance senior, said this is her Megan Carter’s favorite part about working with this production.
“We get to dance with people in other classes and get to know dancers we wouldn’t get to dance with otherwise.”
Tickets for Home for the Holidays cost $29.85, unless you are an OCU student or faculty member. Students and Faculty can buy up to four tickets at a discounted rate of $21.
