The campus just kicked off Homecoming with a carnival full of events.
Madelyn Yoder, dance universal sophomore, said she’s pumped and ready for her second year of Homecoming.
“It’s an opportunity to show school spirit and I can’t wait to see what everyone brings to the table.” Yoder said.
The nominees for Homecoming royalty were announced at kickoff.
The nominees for Queen are
- Alpha Chi Omega’s Courtney Beyer,
- Alpha Phi’s Halston Strange,
- Gamma Phi Beta’s Monica Thompson, and
- Phi Mu’s Sydney Hughes.
The nominees for King are
- Kappa Sigma’s Zack Travers,
- Lambda Chi Alpha’s Brade Bradshaw, and
- FIJI’s Gage Rancich.
Voting is done via OrgSync, but closes at 5 p.m Oct. 28.
“I love how you can really see the wide range of talents across campus during Homecoming,” said Jessica Blume, dance universal sophomore.
Some events coming up for Homecoming are the women’s and men’s soccer game at 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. Oct. 29. The games are free of charge.
The window decorating contest will be from 1:30-5:15 p.m. Oct. 30. at the Student Lounge in the Tom and Brenda McDaniel University center.
The Uptown 23rd even will be from 6-10 p.m. Nov. 2.
Float building will start at 10 p.m. on Nov. 3.
Homecoming will conclude with Lip Sync at 8 p.m. Nov 4. in the Henry J. Freede Wellness and Activity Center.
