Brandon Stalling, music theater sophomore, is holding auditions for an all-male a cappella group.
Stalling was the leader of an a cappella group his senior year of high school and said he has a heart for all-male vocal arrangements.
“I was shocked by all of the male talent when I came to OCU,” Stalling said. “I had all of this sheet music laying around, so I decided to try bringing the vibes of an all male group to OCU and the community around us.”
Those auditioning will need to prepare a one-minute a cappella selection of their choosing, and might be expected to do some pitch matching as well.
“I think an all-men’s a cappella group will be really cool,” said Jordan Dorsey, acting sophomore. “It’s awesome that Brandon is starting a group that gives talented men an opportunity to showcase their talent to people here on campus.”
Males of all majors are welcome to audition to be apart of the group.
“I’m looking for an overall unified group sound,” Stalling said. “I want people to bring in something different that can contribute and blend into the group sound as a whole.”
Auditions will be held from 7:30-10 p.m. Oct. 11 in the small rehearsal hall in Wanda L. Bass School of Music, and callbacks will be Oct. 12 in Kirkpatrick Fine Arts Center Room 344.
Those receiving a callback will be notified via their school email by Stalling.
