The Student Government Association’s Sodexo Resolution was passed by consent last week.
This means that SGA President Chance Johnson can move forward with efforts to make the requests a reality on campus.
The resolution requests six changes to current rules, some of which made the Top Ten list of issues at the STAR Summit last year.
- University & Sodexo administration to disclose contract information when it is relevant to student concerns,
- to allow hot food to be taken out of the cafeteria,
- to develop new meal plans for busy students,
- to refund unused meals at the end of the year,
- to allow other food vendors on campus and
- to mark the prices on pre-packaged items in Alvin’s.
Johnson said:
Based on our research, there’s no reason to think that it would be an undue burden on sodexo for them to fulfill these requests. We also feel it would be commiserate with a fair and equitable relationship with students, so I am really confident about a lot of the proposals that we have.
