Sandy Pantlik, senior director of university communications, resigned from her position Sept. 18.
Pantlik left after receiving a job offer at Oklahoma State University-Oklahoma City. Leslie Berger, director of public relations, and Rod Jones, assistant director of media relations, said they were unsure of Pantlik’s reason for leaving, besides that it was a good opportunity for her.
“I’m going to miss her,” Jones said. “She was a great boss.”
Pantlik studied at Oklahoma State University where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism. She then worked for the Oklahoma Tourism and Recreation Department as a travel and tourism director before coming to OCU in 2012.
Berger was promoted to Pantlik’s position Sept. 21 and currently is responsible for both position’s job duties until a replacement is hired for her former position. A search for the position will begin in the next few weeks, Berger said.
“Sandy was a great mentor for me and I appreciate her leadership the past three years,” Berger said.
Berger said she will miss Pantlik but is looking forward to her new position.
“I am an alumna of OCU so it is very near and dear to my heart and I’m very passionate about it,” Berger said. “We have a great team and I’m looking forward to the great work ahead.”
