Campus Technology Services is not just the department to call to complain about WiFi woes. Campus Tech also offers students a myriad of services like software upgrades for students’ personal computers, online tutorials, discounts on computers and software, and software and hardware troubleshooting.
Students can access information regarding Campus Tech services through BlueLink, www.bluelink.okcu.edu, but many students still are unaware of them.
“I’ve really taken advantage of the computer and printer access available to us in the OCU library, said Jory Brownd, nursing junior. “I see students using them all the time.”
Brownd did not know that Campus Tech would upgrade software on students’ personal computers.
These free upgrades include those in Microsoft Office, Adobe Reader and Windows Media Player.
Campus Tech also offers online tutorials. Students can freely access training modules on hundreds of subjects including Adobe Creative Cloud apps, Google, research paper formatting, and career building.
Students can access these tutorials by logging on to BlueLink and clicking the “Atomic Learning” option.
“I didn’t know there were tutorials for formatting papers on BlueLink,” said Clifton Colbert, mass communications senior. “I wish I had known that earlier.”
Campus Tech also offers students special price discounts on PCs, Macs, iPods, TVs, printers, and cellular service through AT&T. These prices also can be found on BlueLink.
For assistance or more information, students can visit the Support Center from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday in Room 136 in Tom and Brenda McDaniel University Center. Students also can contact the Student Technology Support Center by phone at 405-208-5555 or via email at helpdesk@okcu.edu.
