The Campus Health Center is no longer located in the Panhellenic Quadrangle.
When the former student health clinic building was designated to the Phi Mu sorority as their new meeting house, the health center upgraded to a larger, updated space across campus.
The center is located in Kramer School of Nursing West.
The Campus Health Center assists about 50 students each week. The new space contains a lab, extra exam rooms and more space to accommodate students.
“The hardest thing has been letting everyone know about the change,” said Alyson Dent, campus health center office manager. “Many patients are not accustomed to the new location yet.”
In addition to the differences in size and location, the health center staff has changed. Instead of employing one physician assistant for the entire student body as they did in the past, the center now has five PAs, one for each day of the week.
Though the number of staff members increased, the center’s services and prices will remain the same.
“The new center is much bigger and nicer. It feels more like a clinic,” said Abigail Padgett, nursing junior. “I think it will help encourage students to use the facility being offered to them.”
To schedule a visit to the campus health center, students, faculty and staff can call (405)208-5090 or stop by the new location during business hours, 8:30-11:15 a.m. and 1-4:15 p.m. Monday through Friday.
