- Penelope Cruz has joined the cast of Zoolander 2. Ben Stiller confirmed the news via Instagram and Twitter. Cruz joins Stiller and Owen Wilson in the film, which is set to open on February 12, 2016. For more on the project, click here.
- Josh Trank was a no-show at this weekend’s Star Wars Celebration in Anaheim, CA. Trank, who will direct an as-yet-untitled spinoff for the franchise, was set to join Star Wars: Rogue One director Gareth Edwards in a panel but neglected to appear. “Hey all. So, so, so sad to have missed today. Worst flu of my life,” Trank tweeted a few hours after the panel. “I hear it went beautifully with Gareth. - Meryl Streep has funded a screenwriting lab for women over 40. The lab, called the Writers Lab, will be run by New York Women in Film and Television and women’s filmmaking collective IRIS. The news was announced Sunday at a Tribeca Film Festival panel. For more on the Writers Lab, click here.
